Error when refreshing a model: "Sorry, Excel can't open two workbooks with the same name at the same time"

Modified on Mon, 10 Aug, 2020 at 4:33 PM

You may get the following error message when trying to refresh a workbook containing Quick reports and/or Time series.

This message is due to a conflict between 2 versions of the Excel add-in.

  1. Go to %appdata%\Microsoft\AddIns and search for file EfFull.xla. If you can find it, delete the file.
  2. Go to %appdata%\Infinancials 2.0\xla and search for file EfFull.xla. If you can find it, delete the file. If Windows can't find the folder, skip this step.
  3. Go to %localappdata%\Infront Analytics\Xla and check that the file EfFull.xla is present.
  4. Close Excel and run %localappdata%\Infront Analytics\tools\Clean_XL_Registry.vbs. You can run this command by hitting windows key + R
  5. Close the Infront Excel Engine if it is opened. Check in the task bar and also in the task manager to make sure no instance remains opened.
  6. Run the file %localappdata%\InfrontExcelEngine\InfrontExcelEngine.exe to launch manually the Infront Excel Engine

Open your workbook and try to refresh it. If you still get an error message, please contact the support team.
